Every bold vision needs a few sharp minds who can chart the course, spot opportunities, and share the story. At DataHaven, that trio rounds out the team driving marketing, strategy, and communications, ensuring our message, momentum, and outreach are as precise and impactful as the technology we build.

This is the second chapter of our Meet the Team series, spotlighting three team members who shape how DataHaven grows, connects, and communicates: Shay, Alex, and Val.

Shay Bhayani, Marketing
Camp Title: Opportunity Illuminator

Shay drives marketing at DataHaven with a blend of creativity, strategic instinct, and cultural fluency. A first-generation Pakistani-American entrepreneur, she co-founded her first company at just 16, setting the stage for roles with Google, eBay, and fast-growing Silicon Valley startups.

Her journey includes serving as CMO of Walker Labs, founding Chai Meets Biscuit, and co-founding Root Name Service (RNS), where she’s helping define the future of web3 identity. Shay’s Haven animal is the Lightning Bug: a natural illuminator who sparks attention and guides focus. Ever curious, she splits her time between the U.S. and abroad, always chasing ideas worth amplifying.

Alex DiNunzio, Growth & Strategy
Camp Title: Chief Pathfinder

Alex drives growth and strategy at DataHaven, bringing a proven track record of scaling operations and guiding companies through complex business challenges. From raising over $4M for Jambb and orchestrating a successful exit, to being employee #1 at blockchain-based real estate platform AssetBlock and helping Fuze scale from 17 to 700+ employees while leading product development, Alex blends boardroom strategy with hands-on execution.

Alex’s Haven animal is the Bluebird: perceptive, focused, and always scanning for the next opportunity to soar. Based in Boston but loyal to his hometown of Buffalo, Alex can often be found whispering the lyrics to the Bills’ “Shout” to his four kids at bedtime, ensuring they grow up true fans.

Val Henderson, Communications
Camp Title: Storyteller in Residence

Val leads communications at DataHaven, making sure complex systems tell clear, compelling stories. With more than two decades of experience, she’s crafted narratives for organizations including Reuters, the Olympics, CrossFit, and MTV, back when it still played music videos. Her work spans ghostwritten speeches, thought leadership, and storytelling that’s landed in Entrepreneur, Fortune, and USA Today.

Val’s Haven animal is the Dolphin: intelligent, empathetic, and deeply attuned to connection. She lives in the mountains of Utah with her husband, five kids, and a 15-year-old bionic cat. Outside of work, she’s usually buried in a book, overspending on concert and hockey tickets, or hiking in hopes of spotting Bruce’s distant cousins.
